This year was the first Independent Canned Wine Awards (ICWA), and we couldn’t resist entering our range. We’re really excited to announce our wines won medals across the board. To top it off, the Grüner was awarded ‘best still white’ – a fitting title for our No.1. You can try the full selection of our award-winning wines here.
Here’s what the judges had to say:
Gold - No. 1 Grüner Veltliner
“The nose is vibrant and true to variety, it’s really inviting. The palate has great weight and incredible concentration of fruit. A really enjoyable wine”
Gold - No. 2 Viognier
“Absolutely classic Viognier, powerful, intense, honeyed, floral”
Silver - No. 3 Grenache Rosé
“The palate is well balanced and has great weight. This is a really well-made wine and it’s very easy drinking”
Silver - No. 4 St Laurent
“Nicely balanced, light bodied easy going red - super-tasty on the palate”
Bronze - No. 5 Old Vine Garnacha
“The palate here is lovely, with well-balanced tannin structure and a vibrant fruit profile”
About the Independent Canned Wine Awards
The ICWA is the UK’s first independent, consumer focused competition solely for wines packaged in cans. The awards were overseen by a Master of Wine and then judged blind to international standards. It was great to be part of the inaugural year of the awards.
