Canned Wine Co. won four Gold medals at the 2020 International Canned Wine Competition held in California. The US has been producing some amazing canned wines for the past few years, so to be awarded four gold medals is incredibly exciting!
The gold medals were won for each of our three new wines!
A Gold medal for our 2016 Old Vine Garnacha in the red varietal category. Our new limited-edition Garnacha is made from grapes picked from old vines that are at least 45 years old and planted at altitude. Matured for four years, it has aromas of chocolate coated cherries and cassis with a pallet of racy acidity, black cherries and strawberry.

Our 2019 Gruner won the Gold medal for varietal white wine at the competition. Gruner Veltiner is the champion Austria grapes and ours is mouth-watering full of peach and grapefruit layered over a wonderful pepper spice! Even better, it’s also Organically farmed!
Rosé wines aren’t forgotten about at the International Canned Wine Competition, and we’re super excited to say that our brand new 2019 Grenache rosé from France also picked up a Gold medal in the rose category! With soft aromas of clementine, wild strawberries and butterscotch and flavours of grapefruit, pepper spice and orange citrus it’s a truly unique and refreshing rosé different most of what’s out there!
Finally, Canned Wine Co. also scooped a Gold Medal award for the wonderful design and packaging across the whole series! Something we’re extremely proud of here at Canned Wine Co and have our friends at Amphora to thank!
Happy sipping!
