Canned Wine Co. is thrilled to announce that we won three silver medals at the Drinks Business and Spirits Business Autumn Blind Tasting 2020! We won a silver medal in the £15-20 per bottle category for each of our wines: Grüner Veltliner from Austria, Grenache Rosé from France and Old Vine Garnacha from Spain.
This is a major win, as all wines in the competition are tasted blind and judged exclusively by Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers or senior buyers. Hundreds of wines enter per grape variety and only the best are awarded medals.
Blind tastings level the playing field, as it reduces any preconceptions or bias that judges might have, especially in relation to canned wine. As we competed against bottled wine, this exemplifies that canning does not impact the flavour at all when using high-quality juice and expert wine technologists.
