About this product

Our Verdejo is made by winemaker Javier Sanz whose family has been producing wines in Rueda for over 150 years. Grown on sandy soils which forces the roots deep into the clay and lime subsoils. The vines are dry farmed, which gives a greater sense of terroir, as well as concentrated and flavourful citrus and orchard fruit.

This wine is part of our Heritage Collection, showcasing fine examples of wines from historic wine regions. The regions are famous for specific grapes and styles which we reflect in our wines.

Food pairing

This Verdejo is great with seafood paella, grilled squid, goat’s cheese tart or bang bang chicken noodle salad.

The Winery

Javier Sanz Viticultor has been in the Sanz family for five generations of winemakers for over 150 years. Their winery is based in the heartland of the Verdejo variety, on the Rueda plateau in Spain. Leticia, Javier’s daughter and next generation caretaker of the vines, is driving sustainable change through obtaining organic certification whilst preserving the family ethos. Their viticultural process values quality over quantity through exhaustive monitoring of the vineyards.
